FRIDA FOR YOU

Frida restaurant was established in 2009...

... and is a homage to the Mexican lifestyle, which is full of hot temperaments, fun, and delicious feasts.

The patron of our restaurant is Frida Kahlo, a painter whose work referred to the cultural heritage of Mexico.

Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón

was born in 1907 in Mexico. She became famous for her self-portraits, which she justified like this:

"I paint myself because I am most often isolated and I know the object that I perpetuate."

Her life was not easy but, despite the adversities, in her most creative period, Frida willingly participated in vernissages and meetings with representatives of the artistic community.

Kahlo was inspired by the city of Cuernavaca, where she lived with her husband Diego Rivera.

In her works, she combined reality and fantasy with strong references to folk art. She portrayed her relationship with Mexico through images of roots and trees that symbolised hope, strength and continuity beyond generations.

OUR CUISINE

We want to maintain the continuity of this culture through the culinary art of Mexico..

We fell in love with Mexican cuisine, but so did the whole world. It was not without reason that, in 2010, Mexican cuisine was added to the UNESCO list of intangible heritage.

The ingredients used in Mexican cuisine are mainly corn, legumes, avocados, peppers, tomatoes and a whole lot of spices. Mexicans compose fresh and colourful dishes such as corn tortillas, refreshing guacamole, spicy salsas, rich enchiladas, various tacos or filling burritos.

Our Mexican chef, Adrianna, ensured the quality of our dishes, developing original recipes. She added to the menu unique dishes, such as Tostadas, Flautas or Berenjena.

RESTAURANT

If you want to encounter an authentic Mexican Fiesta, you will experience it with us from the very beginning. And not only because of the chillies and sizzling fajitas ;)

When designing Frida's interior, we wanted it to be colourful and temperamental. That is why all the elements of our decor were brought from Mexico, such as glass goblets - originally embossed in the last traditional glassworks near Guadalajara

In which we serve the best margaritas in town!
